Andreas Miko Tranny Saver Bracket
My transmission recently blew up, thread below:

http://www.sr20-forum.com/general-sr20/17360-tranny-blew-up.html

Readers Digest:

* New pre-owned 00' B15 LSD transmission
* New Stage-3 Clutchkit from GregV at G-Spec.
* New Andreas Miko Tranny Saver Bracket

Type of product - The Andreas Miko Tranny Saver Bracket is a custom modified OEM unit. It works on any transmission that you can bolt up to one of our motors (B13, B14, B15, SR16, gearboxes). See thread below for exactly what it is, what it does, and why.

1. With heavy duty presure plates the bracket bends backwards. All you need is to have someone press the clutch down and take a look at it.

2. The brace is there so you dont have to over tighten your cable to get the cable to disengage properly. Without the brace you clutch will still only partialy disengage on the floor which is way to low.

3. If you look on the bracket you will see there is a 1/2in ring welded on, there is a grove on it to get the cable through. This ring gives you xtra adjustment.

4. Some made a comment that they dont see how this bracket will help to save your tranny. Well think about it. If you clutch does not disengage properly you will be grinding the gears. This is a serious problem on the older style tranny where the 3rd gear is weak already. This stops the constant beating on the gear which eventually will break if you get continious grinding.

Anyone who has tried this bracket will tell you how well it works. Lets put it like this, I have made this bracket since 98 and I have never broken a tranny.

My mechanic and friend of over a decade, Mike, rather crudely modified my OEM bracket to allow extra adjustment. He took one look at the Andreas Miko Tranny Saver Bracket, and said "Awesome. That is the way it should be done, buy one of those immediately." Therefore, I did.

Purchase price - I paid $65.00 plus shipped back my OEM core.

Where it was purchased - From from forum member Andreas Miko, thread below.

Quality - Superb, much stronger and stiffer than OEM.

Install difficulty - Utterly simple for any shade-tree mechanic. I had mine installed by my mechanic (Mike) when he did the tranny and clutch.

Instructions provided - Self explanatory. It directly replaces the orginal OEM part and has engineered-in an additional brace and mounting point.

Comparison between new product and old product. See this thread for pictures:

This is a "no-brianer" purchase. It works on any trannsmission you have. It protects the tranny from damage. It is inexpensive insurance against our relatively fragile B13, B14, and SR16VE trannsmissions blowing up in one form or another. Even on the beefy B15/P11 transmissions, why would you skimp and use the inferior OEM part when you can have the Andreas Miko Tranny Saver Bracket to protect your expensive transmission investment?
