I went and checked this out last weekend since I had to go to Seattle anyway. When I spoke to the guy it sounded good, but when I saw it there where a lot of things he hadn't mentioned. I knew there was a some rust on one of the rear fender lips but there was rust starting to bubble on the strut towers as well, and some rust starting on the other rear fender lip.He also didn't mention a dent down the passenger side with broken trim. The car had been repainted in the past so the paint was in decent shape but since the guy lives on an island there is some corrosion on the suspension and even on some engine parts. He has a vacuum line plugged but couldn't say why and a gound wire at the back of the engine had come disconnected so it was "fixed" with piece of wire and a couple of clips. The driver side door handle has the trim removed because it sticks with it on.He has a five CD changer in the back but you can see a rats nest of wiring down by the ECU. The cruise control is broken and he claimed to have the parts to fix it but what he had was a control switch from a Sentra, that doesn't fit the NX steering wheel. When asked about it he admitted he doesn't know what's wrong with the cruise control. He also has to open the gas cap by reaching under the carpeting in the rear hatch because he broke the gas/trunk release cable. The story is, the rear hatch doesn't pop open so he kept a piece of rope tied to the release handle so he could open the hatch while pulling the release. One day he left the rope hanging out when he shut the door and it got caught under the tire and broke the handle and cable. I took it for a short drive. On the plus side the engine and transmission were good. There is a ebay strut bar and an e-bay short shifter but the front end wobbles even at low speeds. The guy says it bad cv-joints but there is no clicking and it feels more like the front bearing and/or hubs are shot. Overall the car looks decent and doesn't seem to be abused, just not well maintained, but a lot of little things(like carbonfiber/look tape on the cruise) gave me the impression it was owned or driven by the guys son. I don't mind project cars but if rust is starting to show through on the interior of the strut towers you know how bad the underneath of the strut towers are, plus, the corrosion underneath can turn loosing any bolt into a major production. He's asking 2750.00 but didn't want to drop the price much because it's a " rare T-top". I decided to walk away because after spending time and money fixing everthing I could end up with something rusting away underneath me, and who knows what else is wrong since I just took a quick look in his driveway. Anyway I'm still looking for a Black NX2000 in the pacific northwest so please let me know if you guys hear of anything.

Was this the blue one or the black one? There was a blue one with a ton of parts that turned out to be a salvage and a non-runner when I pressed the guy.

Yeah rust is unacceptable in NW. Even on the coast.
