Thread: Spark plug to piston contact

I was just curious using NGK spark plugs is it possible for the piston to contact the electrode on the spark plugs? There has been a couple times where I carefully placed spark plugs back into the motor........measure the gap some time later and find the gaps slightly closed.....is this possible or am I imaging things...... this question came about after doing a compression test, I noticed the piston was taping the fitting on the compression gauge.....

how do you know the piston was hitting the comp tester? were there marks on it? i've used several testers an never had this issue.

yeah, ive always used the ngk's before the COP setup and never had that issue. Only way i can see it happening is detonation. It will definitely do that.

whats the afr like?

I'm embarrassed to say...... just installed the Aem uego a few days ago ..... lets say I didn't see anything below 15.3..... the car defiantly needs a tune asap....
