Well I got everything running well, timing sounds about right (rev's right up) and it idles fine but when I went to go for a spin I couldn't get it in gear... Something has gotta be messed up with the clutch so looks like the tranny has to come out... I couldn't be more bummed... :/ But on the bright side it is running really well and I can just tell its ready to haul ass... Almost

does it go into gear while the engines off?

It will, but it felt a little funny, it could have just been me though, I've been driving my B13 around and it needs a bushing kit so its a little sloppy but yes I have gotten it in every gear with the engine off

double check the linkage and make sure the clutch cable is adjusted properly.. if all that checks out ya i guess you gotta take the trans back off lol

What could it be if the linkage is connected properly (which i'm pretty sure it is)? I put the clips on the throwout bearing that hold it on the clutch lever, I don't know what else I should look for

ummm if the linkage is correct, it could be a worn out or broken clutch cable.. how does the pedal feel? if the cable is all good then i would think the TOB came off the clips or was not installed right or there is something wrong with the clutch setup.

you did use the engine plate that goes between the block and trans right? and Both dowel pins??

How much freeplay in the clutch pedal? In other words, how far does the pedal move before you get resistance from the TOB hitting the pressure plate?
if the clutch is adjusted properly, this should be about 1/2 ".

When I did my VE swap (96 SE-R), I didnt connect the IACV AIR REGULATOR(this is non dectable by de ECM --> will not give you any CES light). Also I delete the Canister Can and all that EGR things. My car is running GOOOOD, activating VVL solenoids with VAFC2 (completly installed --> i mean TPS, MAF, RPM). Im using my DE maf, trhottle body, and TPS.
If you neead any advice/diagram just let me know.
PD: the wiring diagrams that you can find on internet (for distributor) are not always correct. For my 96 SE-R I did some modifications to start the engine.
best regards & enjoy your VVL sound

The clutch cable feel's normal, I looked at it today on my lunch break and noticed that there is a whining sound when the clutch pedal is fully depressed, so my guess is, something with the TOB, I've accepted that the tranny needs to come out so I just have to do it. It rev's so well and idles almost normal too! I soo want to take this thing out for a spin and wire in VVL! I'll keep you guys posted
