yeah i was gonna say you could loctite it and then damage the end of it so that it cant ever come back out without some serious effort. Kinda overkill but hey better to not have to worry about it ever again.

The TB was off for oversizing, so it was convenient for me to stake the end of the screws. Still a hell of a lot cheaper than a motor.

IIRC you lost some torque right?

Torque stayed about the same. The TB was only bored to 64.5mm. gained mid to 8500rpm hp. pulled strong to 8500rpm.

My fix involved JB Weld on the back end of the screws

if you want the screws never to come back out use loctite 290 which is green in color and needs to be burned off to remove it. I only use on things that I never plan to take apart.

is the shaft that the valve pivots on that strong to take that tapping for the screw to spread without bending

The shaft is not strong enough. Very carefully. The flat side of the screw was resting on a hard surface while being staked.

I'm bringing this one back, as this happened to me recently. After looking over the valve and the seat, i cannot see any damage anywhere on the valve seat or the valve. I even took the valve out to inspect the damage. But I was wondering if anyone got "lucky" and also didn't have any damage done.

The valve reliefs on the piston show zero signs of contact with the valve, and the valve also shows no signs. It still makes me weary putting this valve back in, even though it looks to be in better shape than my replacement from my spare head.

Anyone bend a valve when this happened to them? If this happened, what damage was done?
