Care to guess what happend here?
removed the n1's to put stock cams back in (goin turbo) when puttin the stock exhaust cam back on something fell out of the cam cap..

only damage done is what you see in the pictures, the cam caps fine and only where the dist slides in is a little scuffed..

that little peice was riding around chewing at my distributor for god knows how long before it was worn small enough to get wedged in the cap where the dist goes..

had these cams in for about 10k and never took the dist off until now.. i

when i put the dist in after the n1 install it slid in perfectly fine like every other dist i've ever done.. they only go in 1 way lol

good news is the way the cams turn is opposite of the break so no worrys about the cam slipping or anything. nothing else is wrong with the cam its spotless.

never dropped the cam or banged it against anything it went straight from the box it came in directly into the engine..

no idea what happend here.. .Discuss!

Maybe just a flawed billet? A weird spot to break opposite of where the rotor ears meet to the notches on the cam.

my thoughts exactly, if it was gonna break from whatever reason it would break opposite of what turns the dist... But then again the dist spins very easy so unless something were to stop the dist from turning i dont see how it would break.. even if the engine magicly spun backwards theres no real resistance so it would very easly turn the dist.. straight up confused man.. im just glad nothing else is damaged..

Wow man, that dizzy looks chewed up nice. Could it have possibly been a loose dizzy bolt, I know it seems simple but...If everything was fastened/tightened properly then, maybe as said above, a flaw in the billet?? This is a new one for me. I remember you saying many times that you were not happy with the numbers you put down. I wonder if this is the reason? Even if the actual damage isn't the culprit, maybe the reason for the damage is the culprit for low WHP totals? Just a thought.

the dist never moved after the install.. i set the timing with a light an was done.

i Seriously doubt this would effect hp.. if anything the chewed up dizzy could be a culprit for the low numbers, but even before the cam swap i wasn't getting all that great of numbers so idk..
