It makes sense to me in a way. Buy the 16ve combo and you get high comp pistons, big cams and close ratio box. You then add a $100 sr20 crank and notch the pistons and presto. Where if you started with the 20ve it would cost a lot more. Sure you would get n1 cams and forged pistons but no box

sr16ve here in manila cost around 50000php..thats equivalent to 1300usd..
