all you need is det rods/pistons and boost that bitch with a good tune and your at your goal cost effectively.

Everyone wants these great builds when you can boost a de and make 400hp reliabely and have plenty of money left over but to each his own

Well if DET rods and pistons will get me there then I'll go for it but, I've read they're only good for about 350 WHP.

As for the girdle, a DE(T) upper and lower oil pan should do the trick.

Funny how similar your setup is gonna be, compared to mine.

Do some research about the cams though. I doubt that cams designed for N/A should be used for boost.

If anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, please do.

I know a guy who has some Franklin S3's for sale, though

While you're in there you could also consider a crank scraper.

DE oil pans are easy to find and work great. the VVL bottom oil pan is the same as the RR engines. I used the upper pan from my regular DE (lowport) so I didn't have to grind baffles away.

I think the main concern with the DET setup is the rod bolts stretching with higher miles. You see more and more spun rod bearings on these older setups and I am not positive the cause. But I've heard of rod bolt stretch.

I am running a GT3076r. I made about 320whp on 10psi with 8.5:1 compression. But running a tubular manifold on the VVL was the best decision I ever made. Look at some of my other threads.

oo I stand corrected...Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what do you mean by "54c"?

the newer style DET pistons are also called 54c, they come in most of the newer DETs. The older style are 79e
