I can't really explain it any more than Mr.ss did. These were done on the same dyno, less than 10 minutes apart. He was doing the baseline runs in 4th gear and it seemed to be taking a lot longer than I was used to to wind up. I had to ask them to do a couple of runs in 3rd gear since I was thinking something was way wrong with my car. BTW, all of the earlier runs that sparked the entire debate were done in 3rd gear.

So, the first run was done in 4th when the engine was cold? Makes sense to me why the number was low for 4th.

The reason every dyno pull ever is normally done in 4th is because that is generally the closest to a 1:1 gear ratio, unless the gearing has been changed.

Reese, the NX has an SR16 tranny, if I remember correctly from the summer meet, which is why 1st-3rd is like WTFPWNSAUCE!!

At the dyno days ive been to usually the 2nd or 3rd pull make the most power

Also an NA friend of mine dynoed within 2whp between 3rd and 4th gear. This was on a dynojet btw

The car was plenty warm. The dyno is about an hour from my home.

Same here, for baseline pulls the 2nd or 3rd pull make the most power.

does the fact that ur scale is in mph as opposed to rpm make a difference? it would make sense as ur x axis isnt constant... or that wouldnt affect the peak?

^Yes, but the B15 and SR16 tranny's are basically the same except the B15 is stronger. Joe also has the cams to where they kick on at the same time and the NX chirped 3rd .
