is the stock 20vvl headgasket reusable?
I'm thinking of going shaved 16vvl pistons in my 20vvl... Will I have to get a new headgasket?

Also what kind of increase can I expect? 20vvl w/ 16vvl cams, fidanza fly, ssac w/2.5 ex, calum basic

Best 1/4 14.8 at 97mph.... Dyno last was 170/130wtq...

Nope. You need a new headgasket.

i dont think you should re-use the headgasket. Mine gave my engine 17whp and 16wtq or around there

new one

and you will have 13.5 comp.......i would not run this unless you are planning e85. I will soon be doing a budget build 16ve with 20ve crank and rods and e85, should be interesting to see the results, i am surprised someone else on the forum hasnt tried unskimmed 16ve pistons on e85 yet. Will dyno as a 16ve then see the gains from the swap

jus wanting to confirm also... shaving 2mm off the top of the piston should give me ~11.5:1, is that correct?
