Its definitely possible. Axles can make all kinds of weird noises, alot of moving parts in there. Check and see how much play you have in both joints on the axle by moving the axle by hand. Sinc...

Entire exhaust fell off...

+1 for the green stuffs, less dust and good performance, a little noisy at break in but it will eventually go away.

1). Starter... sounds like a tooth is missing...

2). Heat shield, or exhaust touching a heat shield.

Make sure that copper washer is tight! It needs to be tighter than one would think. And make sure there is a fresh copper washer installed.
