Another +1 for string method....to get your working range, take two measurements (w/the pulley all the way loose and all the way tight). For example, if you measure 300mm w/pulley tight and 340mm ...

Don't always trust this, at least always double check it with a string. I've blindly followed what the forums have said in the past in regards to belt sizes and it has been wrong.

You should not do this if you're going to run the AC, the belt needs the extra ribs from the strain added to the belt from a running AC Pump. I also run a 6 rib belt on my alternator after removing...

Except the short term issue of it slipping like mad when ever the AC pump kicks on. You **CAN** also drive your car with three wheels but it is not something you'd really want to do.
