AEM's Soon to be released Infinity-10 Full Standalone
A couple people have asked me about this as I was debating on switching out my AEM Series 1 for a Series 2 but I remembered running across this back in January and it looks very promising as a proper replacement for the Series 1 and 2 for those really looking to step up to a serious standalone. Capability to have 23 programmable and user defined analog inputs for things such as backpressure, fuel pressure, oil pressure, egt's, multiple widebands ex: 1 per cylinder with fuel correction for each, wheel speed sensors for traction control use and much more and the projected price is less than a third of a similar Motec unit.

With the monitoring and logging of things like oil pressure and fuel pressure there are more safety features added with those such as fuel corrections with low fuel pressure and ignition cut with low oil pressure to let you know something is wrong.

Here is a link to it

Unofficial Infinity-10 Sneak Peek

Its a shame its not out already but for now my Series 1 will do what i need it to do but I will definitely be upgrading to this unit once its released to the public.

This is fully programmable and it works like a factory ecu in a lot of ways. 32bit processor and it self learns idle fueling, automatic VE tables so you can use it easily with ITB's, it can even do electronic throttles (fly by wire)

I believe they said the projected public retail will be $2200 for this unit which is a 1/3 of a motec unit that has the same capabilities.

Ill be all over this once it releases thats for sure.

LMAO Good point dude. I sold my series 1.5 but whenever they figure out all the bugs I'll get one again.

lol there is a reason why they give you the 24-1 disk now with any nissan using a distributor. If you cant get your car to run and idle right using the aem and the 24-1 disk your tuner sucks. Im sorry. With my last setup on C2 cams, Q45 throttle body and aftermarket manifold running on a map sensor I could get the idle solid as hell at 1000 rpm with no issues and i wasnt all that familiar with the aem then. Yes the initial startup is a pain in the ass and takes time and knowledge but any good tuner should be able to get it within an hour or so messing with it and dialing in the settings for the ignition phasing and injector phasing, idle is pretty easy to set as well. There are steps to getting it that way.

My biggest issue was getting the car originally started but i was also using COP w/ CDI box and so on. So settings had to be changed and set. It took me a good 3 hours to finally get the thing started, after that it took me no time at all to get the idle and part throttle stuff taken care of. Again i was new with the ems too but not really tuning itself so I understood what I had to do.

Before long I had a rock solid idle with no surging, stalling, or anything weird then started in on my in boost and higher rpm cruising tuning.

You guys are complaining over stuff thats been taken care of for a long time. The Series 2 now comes with the 24-1 disk and new startup tunes that are supposed to work flawlessly. The problem before was using the rwd settings for the phasing and so on and they were off enough to where the car wouldnt start until you got the phasing closer.

Rant over.

(Rant on) Well Mr. Ashtonsser before I bought my AEM which was a long time ago I joined the AEM forums which was an even longer time ago at the time there was no 24-1 cas disc for a FWD SR20DET well AWD to be specific there is no FWD SR20DET's anyways no cas disc and no support for us!!! If it wasnt for Brent aka Coach and Ben Fenner I would have soaked the damn thing in 87 octane and lit it on fire because I was so frustrated with it. They then made the 24-1 cas disc for the GTi-R DET's which fit our distributors and I then had to pay to get one shipped to me even though my 13-1600 ems which is for my B13 SE-R came with a RWD DET cas disc SMH. I went back on the forums printed out the intructions for setting up the cas disc installed it and plugged in the values like they said and chose a honda distributor which is what the instuctions from the forum said and the car would not start and when it did it ran like ass. I switched back to the stock cas disc and just dealt with the surging idle and ignition issues at higher rpm and boost. Now they may be support now but like i said when i had mine the support was next to non-existent! Dont think everybody on here are morons cause we are not. (Rant off)

Over and out!

For those people who need gobs and gobs of input and output controls and logging this seems nice. I'm still quite happy with me Series 1. I've really grown to like AEM's stand-alone line as I'm sure people have guessed.

They could have also just fixed the units they already made. Most of the issues with aem were software related which could have been fixed with a firm ware update. I hope they have learned from the mistakes on the previous 2 ems units.
