Thread: 5th gear pop-out. Need a good tranny shop in NC...suggestions?

I think the ball has something to do with your reverse switch. When you select reverse the ball moves to engage your reverse lights.

Dookie, if there is a ball under the long dowel, it is not for the reverse switch. It would be to control gear oil flow if anything.

The reverse switch is actuated directly by the shift linkage with no spring or ball in the equation.

Okay so it's been a bazillion years and I know the car is for sale now but I'm finally getting around to posting these pictures. Better late than never?
