Replacing a Starter. HELP!!!!!!!
Here's where i am. I removed the grounds from the starter, but i CANNOT find a way to get to those 2 bolts that go through the starter to the tranny off....can anyone give me an idea how? pics to come later, when i have light......

damn near 3 hours and i couldnt figure out how to get em off..pisses me off even thinking about it.

You will have to reach from the top. Those bolts are almost directly under the Air intake piping. You might need to remove it for easier access.

Removing the air intake piping will definitely help in finding the bolts. I just recently changed my starter out, and yes, it was a pain in the arse!!! There is a write up...

yen, GL out on that writeup. i completely forgot about that forum lol.

yea i see im gonna have to remove my intake. may as well put on the new one while the old one's off!

two things to remember, if u take the intake off, plug the MAF back in. dont ask why i say that lol. the other thing is that its a 2 man job. you WILL need help.

Nah, definitely doesn't HAVE to be a 2-man job. You loosten the bolts from the top. Get under and disconnect the plug and wire and take it out.

Then, get the replacement starter, connect the plug and wire, put it in place. You can actually reach from the bottom and get the bottom bolt started. Then go up top and tighten the bolts.

That's the Cliffs' notes version.

Replaced my starter on the B15 2 times already. 1 man job for sure

Replaced mine today, make sure you unbolt that pesky V bracket...

Those aren't grounds on the starter... Make sure you disconnect your battery.

@ it becoming a 2 man job for me.

+1 @ disconnecting ur battery.....in the words of JC "make sure u disconnect the battery b4 u die" lol
