Does this look like a tire that would work? My friend has Nexens and loves them!
Those will work, but there are better tires for the price I think.

I love these rims and would love to buy a set of them! Would these work on my car too?
Those are 16"x7" and +40mm offset. They also have the right bolt pattern which is 4x100mm. They should fit fine. Keep in mind they are $540 shipped (maybe out of your budget) and nowhere on the listing does it say you get 4 wheels for that price. I would make sure before you buy. It might just be two wheels. You never know.

Would it be cheaper to buy my tires at a local store instead so I don't have to pay shipping charges?

These ones are nice too but I think the Motegis are nicer
Those are not nice. Frankly, those are fuсking hideous.

Trust me. If you're considering those wheels and caliper covers you are not ready to buy anything. Give it 12 months and stick around here and check things out. If after that time you think you still want those wheels then fine, get them. You will regret it if you buy them now. I promise you.

I have my mind pretty much set on the Motegis unless I see something else, and yes I will be waiting a few weeks before purchasing anything

Usually the cheapest thing to do is buy wheels and tires from Tire Rack and have them take care of mounting and balancing them. All you have to do is install them. It's the quick and easy and painless way to do it.

If you can't find wheels and tires you want at Tire Rack or for a price you're willing to pay then you have to buy the wheels and tires separately and take them somewhere to get the mounted and balanced. I still say get the wheels and tires both online. That's going to be best/cheapest. Find a local place you can trust to mount and balance the wheels and you're golden.

Questions like this are good. You need to know this stuff.

sr20jet gave you the answer to that question but for that kind of tire info we have a thread for it. He should have pointed you here: http://www.sr20-forum.com/suspension/29119-definitive-tire-thread.html

What exactly do you like about those wheels? If you let us know we might have better suggestions.
Is it because they are black?
The red pinstripe?
The 5-spoke look?
The thick spokes?
The flatness of the spokes?
The way the spokes get fatter as they go out?
The price?
The size and dimensions?
The weight?
The build quality?

To get real technical you might want to make sure those Motegi wheels (Please stop calling them "rims", they are wheels. They aren't mags either unless they are wheels made of magnesium.) have the correct or at least larger hub bore than 59mm so they will fit over your hubs.

(One other thing. Calling it "up sizing" is really a newbie thing. You can stop that too.)
