What a nightmare!!
Hi Guys,

I just discovered this morning that the guide that my timing chain tensioner pushes out on is cracked in half. Has anyone ever changed one of these and if so what all is involved because it looks like a real PITA!! Any input is greatly appreciated.

I am pretty sure the oil pump has to come off. It is possible but not easy. The guide isnt that cheap either, i think mine was around $70ish. If you need it i can sell it to you, i will look it up and see what i actually paid. Then i will let you know how much i need for it. I will check the manual as well for details on replacing it.

Edit: After you take off the oil pump you can access it. I have the updated guide and the bolt that it pivots on. I paid $72.98 for the guide part# 13091-2J202 and $2.63 for the bolt part# 13094-53J01. It says that 2J202 replaces 2J201. I would let them go for $75 shipped including paypal fees if you are interested.

So your saying the motor does not have to come out? I think it does.

I've read that you can remove the front cover with the engine in, but it's got to be a complete bitch. Do some searching on the other forum and you should get some decent hits.

OK, I'm gonna look around because if that's true then there is no room down there at all.

I never said it was easy but i have herd of people doing it. I think you have to remove the bottom mounts and rock the motor up. It might be easier to remove the motor but it all depends.

I think I am going to just pull the motor, it will give me a chance to go over the rest of the motor to identify any potantial problems
