Thread: interest in c/f doors??

ok guys so out of curiosity i got ahold of chaser aerodynamics. they make a dope a$$ s13 inverted hatch that got me to think that maybe they can pull this off. luckily they have seen my car on the net and seem to be pretty eager to work with me. he said that their time frame for a custom job like this is about 6 months, but he is still crunching numbers to see how many orders he would need to get this ball rolling. i told him i can get atleast 5 orders in as of now and get them all to pay half upfront(guesstimate). who would really be interested though? im assuming it would be in the $1200-1500 range just by seeing other c/f door prices. i know alot of people would like a set but who would really be down for this? again this is all still in the talking phase and i dont know specifics on dates or pricing. i did tell them that i would want the door to work just like a stock door and take all the oem components like window rails, latches, glass etc.

oh an according to their liability clause these doors would be for offroad track use only.

wait so a company is willing to make cabon fiber doors for b13's?

this thought has always lingered in the back of my mind ever since I switched a door out and felt how heavy it was!
i've considered buying plastic/fiberglass(wet toilet paper..LOL!) doors if they made 'em..for the track car..

with a p11 with almost a full CF interior? wasnt he making CF door skins?

hate to rain on your parade, cause i tell you this, id drop 1500 in a heartbeat for cf doors for my nx.

but you might find 3 dudes top on this board that in the end will shell out 1500 for se-r doors.

just the nature of our community, really sucks that there isnt enough die hard guys willing to shell out the money to get some really high end parts made.

This is true.. but us 3 guys will have some sweet doors.. if anything I can try to get a copy of my doors for me if no1 jumps in. It'll prolly be a lot easier since everything is shaved.
