This is my friend with his N14 GTI. I did recently a VE swap as old cammed DE lost compression after a lot of years of abusing. Here are vids from first race after swap, it was very fast track.

Spec:

SSAC header
2.25" exhaust
JWT popcharger
Nistune ECU
XYZ coils
13x7 et10 CXR wheels (clears AD22VFs)

Wish we could block off some roads here and do that.

Another race weekend. He won his class again and ended up 4th overall (after three EVO IX). Check out new vids with one very dangerous moment!

I assume the skinny tires are required in the class it runs in?

I can't help but notice that he's putting him self at risk without full nomex coverage. Also the cage looks a bit weak from this angle. Those speeds combined with trees and metal barriers should be taken seriously. Just saying.

Nope, you can run whatever tire you want as its street tire. Its good quality tire, it does work good. But i would run 195 tire myself, or maybe 205, but definately not more.

Its original Sunny Cup bolt-in rollcage. Yes, its dangerous, i would recommend full welded cage, but its still street car.
