The meatball wouldn't help unless the car dumping just kept on going around.

There should have been a WTF waving debris flag and standing yellow. The corner worker should have called/demanded/requested for a full course yellow after the first two or three cars went off the exact same way.

You can see right before he goes off, the cars starts to oversteer and then doesn't steer at all and he goes sailing off. Nothing he could have done after he hit the oil.

this was totally unavoidable the guy was just flagging when the car was oncoming if the guy would have seen the flag he wouldnt have known what hit him .. unpreventable but i would inspect tire on lotus.. n/a race on a track that smooth.. naw man thats dickface error. or NEWB tube.

looke like there was something on the track , u can see the car shake, but still if u see someone waiving a f*cking yellow flag that means ***CAUTION*** but looks like miata drivers think it means pedal to the metal lol , there was nothing that driver could of done but slow down alittle till the next turn

I doubt you are a w2w racer. If you were, you'd realize that 1 standing yellow does not mean SLOW down to a crawl (because if you do, quite frankly you'd get rearended)

I personally slow down when seeing a yellow/red striped flag with stationary yellow to feel out the track conditions the 1st time through that spot but that wasn't the case here thanks to a corner worker failing to display it!

The only time in a race that people slow down to a crawl is when there is double yellow being led by the pace car and everyone is going slow to stay behind the pace car and NOT pass anyone.

I'm not talking about slowing down to a crawl ... I'm just saying slow down enough that u can handle the situation if it turns scary ... Give urself time to react ... Ur right I don't race cars on a cc track yet but if u see a waving flag doesn't take much to know they might be something wrong at the next turn ... Even if he did would of mattered once u hit oil or coolant it's all over anyways

coolant isn't allowed in w2w cars on the track... and it was a stationary yellow from what I could tell (not waving yellow)

stationary yellow is be ready to slow down and do not pass.. you don't have to slow down right away...

it's a race thing.. if you don't race, you probably wouldn't understand

Definitely a waving yellow just seconds before impact. He was focused on the pass and not the C.W.

We can bench race all day but the reality is that things like this happen in racing, some because people make stupid mistakes, and others because, well... that is racing. You cannot fault the guy for racing hard, he lost focus for a moment and this happened. From what I understand he was a seasoned competitor. This could have happened to anyone in a race car.

I was talking about the Road America Incident.. not the 1st post.. I agree on the 1st post (he shouldn't of even tried to pass anyway)
