I put 6.5" in the back of my NX, and they barely fit.

Oh, and I paid $27 for the pair of speakers.

i got top of the line kenwood excelon stuff. everything in my car is kenwood excelon and i probably paid half the price on everything that i got. your speakers probably only cost them about 200 dollers there price. the RA price or whatever they call it is the middle price like if you want to give a discount then they have a third price that they recomend you sell it at which they can go by or sell higher

That sucks A$$ bro so your saying i could actualy tell them to go lower on the price?? Il try that next time when i go back there Il tell the jen said so

I got 6.5 inch, 2-way DUAL brand speakers in the back. They fit with some modification, first I had to pound the metal (with a ball peen hammer) just behind where the magnet sits so the deeper speaker can fit, and plus, since the frames of the new speakers are bigger they dont sit all the way in the hole, so longer screws were needed, and then used some taillight sealing strips to shim up the gap around the edge and seal it. And, since the new speakers have tweeters in the middle that poke up in the middle, I had to cut the center plastic framework on the back of the grills so they will snap closed over the speaker. But they fit great and sound excellent. And they cost me a grand total of $8.49. b00 y4!

Edit- pics---in the first pic you can see the back side of the grill where I cut out the "crosshair' frame work from the grill so it would close over the taller speaker's tweeter

This is for the back...
Different brands have different types of magnets and speaker depths. for example, i had a crappy pair of jensen 6.5s that i tried fitting in there and they didnt fit. i tried the eclipse which i still have now and i have plenty of clearance. eventhough they have a smaller magnet, the magnet itself is a different type, which does effect the sound quality.

As for the front, i had tried different speakers, the same crappy jensens, infinity kappa perfect 6.5 components, and a few others.. the infinities were custom mounted to a piece of board that was mounted to the door panel, however the window still hit when i would roll it down. i decided to do a custom door panel because the speakers were pressed up against the speaker grill on the door panel. as the result of an unfinised custom door panel, i have none now and just have the crappy jensens up front on the door for sound. they are mounted directly to the door with an eigth of an inch washer and slightly clear the window.

ok see the problem with the one that i got are that mine were long and not round like the ones you got. you see your last pic?? were your fingure is kind of touching.. the speakers that i got were as long as were your fingure touches so i would have to cut out that whole rectangle that you see there..

brooklyn every store is like that. everywere you buy anything is like that wether its cereal or a car everything is set to sell for a certain price before they start to lose profit

I want some plug and play speakers. What are the factory sizes for the door speakers up front and the rear speakers? Is it 6.5" up front and 4x6" in the back?

4x6 up front. Many 6.5 but not all will fit in the rear. Use Crutchfield to see what's an exact fit.

4x6 sound like an AM radio; it's worth the extra work to put in 6.5 all around.

Just had my new Egg fitted with a stereo system and after reading up on this and the other forum decided that I wanted 6.5 inch speakers front and back. I went with the Infinity line up with:

Infinity Reference Series 6.5" Shallow Mount 6022SI in the Front

Infinity Kappa Series 63.7i 3 Way in the Rear.

The Kappas required a tiny amount of clearancing to fit, nothing major. The 6022SI speakers were a direct fit in the front. Sound is very nice, and these speakers were Ebay specials. $59 for the fronts, and $83 for the rears shipped.
