Isses - need advice.
I bought an hks axleback from a member here along with his nx (the arizona one). He assured me it fit a nx no question.

I sold the axleback to a member on the other forum, and he claims it doesn't fit. He had purchased a b13 catback that didnt fit either. Since I never actually put it on my car (it was just in the trunk) I am uncertain if he is wrong or the person who sold me the nx is. Either way I have no proof if it does fit or not. Now, the axleback is in hawaii and he is requesting his money back.

How should I go about the recourse for this? He said he took off a clamp to see if it fits, and it still wont, which leads me to wonder what exactly he did to it, if it's even salvagable now or not...

Anyways, so I asked him for photos of the fitment to prove it doesnt fit previous to me agreeing to do anything on the axleback. What else should I do?

As most of you know from being around me, I'm a very straight up guy and am not out to screw anyone but I also don't want to be out $92 shipping for no reason.

Advice? Here's a photo for reference:

*EDIT* and here is the photo of his current muffler he bought from someone else's b13 sale thinking it would fit:

You sold a part that you said fit his car. It doesn't fit so you should refund him the money and eat all shipping costs.

After some research, it would seem he hacked up his stock nx exhaust as per this thread:
B13/NX catback question - SR20 Forum

and now he says it wont fit up with his b13 axleback he bought.

So then that means that it may have fit with a nx axleback stock but not this 'hacked up' one. He bought it anyways, even though there was no response. I told him that it should fit according to other posts on the forum saying that the intermedairy pipe on a nx is the same but the axle back 'hump' is the difference.

well he had another B13 muffler part that was supposed to fit his car and didn't, maybe he doesn't know how to install it..

I had a shop tell me my progress rear sway bar didn't fit on my B13, another shop put it on.....

here's my pm on the 25th of september:

But that's not necessarily the question here because we both know hks is way better than oem, so here is happynole, one of the most reputable people on the forum speaking on the intermediary pipe between the b13 and the nx:
"I have a B13 Sentra Stromung catback exhaust and I also have a Nissan Motorsports (Borla) B13 NX rear section. I know for a fact that the center section is the same for both the Sentra and NX as I have used the Stromung center section on both cars (as a complete system on the Sentra and in combination with the Borla on the NX) at different times."

So that being said it stands to reason that your hks intermediary pipe should have zero issues mating to this hks axleback. Since I have no way of telling, it's safe to assume that if you have your oem S curve as well as the hks, then wait for my part to come, and make your decision as to what to do next with the b13 axleback.

It all boils down to this:

Yes, it will fit your intermediary pipe provided it's the same as stock (should be.)

Let me know, and remember, if you send the $200, there will be extra for the shipping cost. I wont charge pkging since I have a stupid amount of bubble wrap from my roommate lying around, so shipping will be your only additional expense, so please include shipping address for me to get the additional price for shipping out to you. Did you decide on whether you would like the pipe cut or not? BTW, the pipe I'm giving you is better than the one you have. It's a stainless steel muffler, and the coveted (and very rare) hks hipower muffler. Supposedly it sounds absolutly perfect according to 3 members I've spoke to who has one. I'm selling mine because I am going VE and 3"!

Let me know, pleasure getting to know you either way you decide to go man!

edit: nevermind.

He should just try to sell it to recoup his money. Thats what i had to do when my progress LCA didn't fit since i have a 3"dp. I didn't go piss and moan to the guy i bought it from because there wasn't anything he could do anyway so I sold it.

Thing is, I never once said it would bolt right to the hks intermediary that's designed for a b13, but said that provided the b13 intermediary pipe for the hks is exactly the same as the nx, it should fit. He should have waited for the response from the 'gurus' on the forum prior to making his purchase, and now he wants a full refund because of his mistake.

It's kind of both mnsr20 - he has a nx. he bought the b13 hks exhaust, it of course as you say, didnt fit, and he mangled his stock exhaust in the process. He wants to use his hks intermediary b13 pipe and my nx axleback mated to it. Now he claims it doesn't fit. But doesn't fit what? Doesn't fit the hks axleback or a stock nx pipe as it was deisgned to?

tell him he's SOL because he made a misinformed bad decision and started buying things up before he knew what he was doing. Your NOT at fault for providing all the details you knew, and you also didn't express or imply any warranty for it. So, it's his problem now. I have been in situations like this more than I would have liked to have been and that's essentially the responses i get from the sellers too, however it might not be that harsh.

you can't "frankenstein" different parts together and then when it doesn't work know exactly which one was bad. There are too many different variables. If all the correct parts were used, and the old exhaust was not "hacked" as you say (i did not read that link) then you could narrow it down to being this one item. That doesn't seem to be the case though, so make him sell it and if he can't make his money back consider it a penalty for making a stupid decision. This is why I take a long time to make purchases, not just impulse buying.
