New member from Louisville, KY
Just bought a 1966 Datsun 1600 and looking to throw a SR20DET engine in it.

I will be searching the forums for information and possibly a purchase.

I noticed there is no place for engines for sale but there is a place for transmissions.
If someone was selling an engine would they put it under the OEM parts section?
Or are you not allowed to sell engines on here?

It would go under the forced induction section. But you are probally better off going to an engine importing company(ex: jdm engine zone) depending on where your located in the country.

Any idea who? I didn't find anyone on the east coast selling them.

Found JDMmidwest. I assume that is who you are talking about.
They have zero nissan engines. -(
I will keep an eye out.

What other plans do you have for the car? Will this just be a mild build for a nice cruiser or are you lookin' to hurt feelings?

A restomod.
I want to be pretty much original with more horsepower and better handling/stopping.

It will be a frame off build.
From what I have seen so far the sr20det s15 seems to be about the best bang for the buck engine to drop in with the last amount of work.

200 - 300 hp is what I want. It will mainly be a cruiser but I want sone umph to it when I put the pedal down.

Hit me up bud. I can source your parts and do any fab work you need. I'm just south of you in Bardstown, KY at a shop called Performance Plus.

Thanks. I have two motorcycles I have to build before I even get started on the car but I am quite sure I will be hitting you up and checking out your shop.

I know I need new floors. Not sure if you can buy replacement floor pans or not. Have to have the body and frame blasted or dipped to see how bad it really is.
