Speed Camera's now legal in MD
FYI, On highways? These dumbarses have lost there minds!!!

"Speed cameras are now legal in Maryland and drivers better slow down. Mobile speed cameras are now going up in three highway construction zones. One camera will be placed on I-695 at Charles Street. Another will be on I-895 and White Marsh Boulevard in Baltimore County. Another speed camera will be on I-95 between Routes 198 and 216 in Prince George's County."

Good golly, remind me to stay away from MD... I wonder if a radar detector will pick these up.

Leave it to the great state of Maryland to pull some BS like that. Its just an easy means for those greedy bastards to generate an ass load of revenue at our added expense. Think of the sheer volume of traffic that passes through each one of those locations every day. Only a fool would believe those cameras are being put up to actually reduce traffic accidents.

This means that we will either have permanent construction sites in those areas, or they will just amend the law so they don't have to take them down once construction is complete.

The worst part is they won't even let you fight the tickets. They know their courtrooms would be overwhelmed with a bunch of pissed off people, so they just mail you a fine and some lube and tell you to go **** yourself.

I live about 3 miles from the I-95/rt 198 area. The construction there will be until early 2012 due to the building of the ICC.

Right now, this area is where the typical evening back-ups clear up. Now, I can just imagine what the back-ups will be like in these areas.

I drive down Connecticut Ave near DC to come home from work and it's 30mph. There are a few speed cameras there, so cars passing those cameras slow down to 15-20mph to go past them.

Imagine what it's going to be like on a 65mph highway!

Yeah, driving up a state highway, I'm not sure most people are looking for speed camera signs.
