any sub box builders out there?
i have never owned a vented box but i wouldn't mind giving it a shot however my box building skills are piss poor. i can physically build the box just designing it i do not trust myself to do. if some one could design a box/provide me with dimensions, what have you, that would be fantastic.

the quick measurements i took tell me that if this is a standard rectangle box (all right angles) it can not be any deeper than 10inches and no wider than 41 inches. please help me out with this.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-eku8D3snx42/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=109GT1204D that is the exact subwoofer i have.

sidenote. right angles are good, i can cut a straight piece of wood and nail **** together, give me goofy angles and **** hits the fan lol.

I would try posting this question on ICIX forums. Guys on that forum are always willing to design boxes for people.

If you want I can ask for you later today.

elemental designs has nice plans to build boxes, it's what I always used

If you call them they will give you a cut sheet, so you know exactly what size the pieces of wood need to be, then it's just a matter of putting it all together.

I had this exact box above, and it was fantastic, although i had en ed sub in it. I bet the jbl would sound great in it as well.

Cerwin Vega used to include port-sizing charts based on Freq Res and the cu. ft. of the enclosure.

I've run 12" CVs my whole life, even though they may not be as accurate as other sealed apps.

^^^i took the easy route. get your measurements together and go online to elemental designs. they built a box for my little sub that sits between my rear jump seats in the Frontier. perfect fit with rounded edges and carpet. i'm happy with it.
they also built a custom sized sub enclosure for the se-r' trunk

^^^ Cool! Do you have some pics of the SE-R box? I'd like to see that.

it's just a box, but i'll see what i can find.

as you can see, i mounted the sub' amp on the opposite side from the 12" sub. the entire assembly is held in place with 2 steel straps, 4 sheet metal screws and 4 wood screws. it's easily removed for racing or other times when i may need the trunk space for suitcases or something. i'd recommend having it carpeted when they build it though.

Oh thats cool. I thought it was like a custom vented box designed to fit snugly in between the wheel wells of a B14 Sentra. That is nice though, that set-up must have some sweet output.

Any update?? oh and sealing up the edges from the inside with something like right stuff gasket maker will help the air travel through the slot so it has a cleaner sound.
