Need some help! TPS voltage issues! 6v at WOT!
The car has been sitting for a couple of months during the trans swap and msd got serviced. The car would sputter and had a really weak idle, and much to my surprise it has 11.5v to the bottom wire, .45 closed and 6v wot, and the gnd registers .02 wtf is going on?!?!

I figured it was my sensor so swapped it and no change so i looked into the obd2-obd1 stepdown harness, everything looks fine there and hoped my calum rt wasnt going bad i pulled both ecu and stepdown out and put a stock b14 ecu just to check voltage at the sensor and still have 11.5 at the bottom, .45 closed but registers 5 WOT.

Everyone is saying i shouldnt have 12v at the bottom wire since the ecu regulates it to 5v, what are the chances i have two bad ecus here with the same problem...I also read the tps has to match the ecu but im running a ve head and i have not had any problems with the tps in the last 2 years ive had this setup. Any ideas?!

has the harness been modified at all or repaired? It definatly should be 5v. If you can't figure out whats going on just cut the wire (tape off/cap) and splice into another 5v source if you can. This would get it back to normal for now. Don't use the coolant temp 5v wire though! It will fck with the temp reading.

My problem was it was working perfectly fine before and even with the stock ecu it still measure the same voltage but the sensor reads correctly. i wondered if it was my stepdown harness or the calum rt but the stock ecu reads the same so maybe its a tps issue? I just got another one from a member here and it reads the same! Car barely starts, and has a weak idle.

Found a cheap workaround....L7805 regulator from radio shack. Cost 2 bucks converts any 7-37v source into 5 volts. Works perfect now.
