nx1600 dash issues
I just installed my digital dash, all my lights/ indicators are working and dash illuminates but nothing is coming up on the tach, fuel lvl, and temp gauges. Has anyone had the same problem? Could it be a faulty dash? And how would I test it?

My first thought is that you haven't done the wiring correctly. Instead of just 1 wire for the ignition and ground (as it is with a "stock" cluster), the digital cluster has more than 1 (3, to be exact) for ignition, and probably the same for ground as well.

It sounds like you may have mismatched the wires on the central plug of the cluster (the one with the unlabeled pins).

To test your cluster (the "digital" parts anyways), put the key on ignition, and quickly turn the city/parking lights (first setting on the switch) on and off for about 10-15 times (can't remember the exact amount).

If everything is installed correctly, you should see all of the individual lights of the "digital" part of the cluster light up.

However, this wouldn't be the case if it's not powered in the first place.

All 3 yellow ignition wires are tied together, would one wismatched wire in the central plug cause the whole dash not to come on at all? My low fuel lvl light is staying on, maybe I mixed up the fuel light and fuel lvl wires

Okay, so the 3 IGN wires are tied together. What about the GND wires?

And yeah, sounds like you have mixed up those 2 wires XD. It was confusing me at first, as well

Ok I will try switching them, and all of my grounds are tied together, 2 out of the nx cluster and 3 from the b13. I also saw that one ground on the b13 is tach specific? Would it make a difference if that ground was hooked up alone on the nx central black plug grounds which I'm guessing is grounds to the digital tach?

Hmm, I can't check it myself, but are you sure there's only 2 grounds on the digital cluster?

Also, a ground is a ground, so it doesn't matter what wire you use for it.

However, it might totally be possible the groundwire you're using right now for the center plug isn't working right (bad wire, loose connection).

I'd try wiring it up to the other wires used for the GND pins.

I was wondering about it only being two grounds also, I will double check. I thought one of the grounds might be bad and that's why I tied them all together, at one point I wired the two grounds straight to the battery but still nothing. I'm just going to go back and triple check my work. But last question, there is a yellow wire that goes to the yellow plug on the nx cluster, it looks like all it does is go in the plug and loop back out is that wire for anything important?

I remember that wire. I has always struck me as odd as well. I think it might have something to do with a function not on our cars.

Also, here's something I thought about just now: Did you set the Illumination control switch all the way to the max? It's that little knob under the temp-meter. If it's all the way down, the meters won't be visible at all during daytime.

Lol yes the knob is on max, still nothing. The cluster also makes a buzzing noise now Idk why

Hmm. Buzzing isn't good. How loud is it? It's not the "warning" buzz on the back of the unit, is it?

Well, the wiring part is all I could think off. It might be a faulty unit though, but I've never come across one that didn't work (I had 7 in my possession at once, at one time, and they all turned out to be fully functional).

Did you follow my guide on wiring it up, or did you find out yourself? Not to question your capabilities, but I'd like to make sure you did nothing wrong.

EDIT: But you have made sure the ground wires are all good? And how many are there?

EDIT 2: I might have found the yellow wire that you mentioned. Does it come out of one pin, and then back into another on the same plug?

Here's a page from the FSM:

It looks like it's the wire connecting 17 with 21. I've never used it, however. At least, I don't recall ever doing anything with it.

However, if you check the 2 schematics in this topic, you'll see that the top one connects the pin marked 17 in the FSM page above to both the pin named "Illumination" in the center plug, as well as the one on the plug that comes "out" of the car. Pin 21 is connected to the other pin named Illumination on the center plug, as well as the one on the plug that comes "out" of the car.

When you look at the bottom of the two, you'll see that it's almost the same, however the second Illumination pin on the center plug is mated to the dimmer switch (the one that dims the original cluster, located to the left of the dash, under the left-most vent).

I think 17 might be a ground for the Illumination, just like 12 is for multiple functions. Originally, illumination is controlled by combining the voltages of the 12 to 21 and 17 to 21, where the former has a variable resistor (the dimmer knob on the digital cluster).

Hmm, food for thought. If I ever get the opportunity to install another one of these clusters, I'll surely check!
