Thread: old iPod interface compatibility with 2006 Pioneer deck

i have a 2006 model Pioneer deck with iPod interface.

I currently only have an iPhone (my 30G iPod was stolen a few months ago)

I want to get an iPod that will be able to charge on my Pioneer unit and have a sole purpose of playing music in my car.. (a permanent fixture of sorts)..

Will a 6th Generation "iPod Classic" work? or does it only take charges from iPhone compatible iPod interfaces?

Judging from Crutchfield's listing it only supports old Ipod's, which doesn't make sense to me. I have the same head unit (880PRS) and just recently picked up a 3rd gen Ipod touch. When I get a chance to hook up my Ipod adapter and test it out, I will post up the results.

nice, i clicked on the link from a PC, and I can clearly see the list..

whereas when I clicked on the link from my iPhone, the website went to "mobile" mode.. and I couldn't see the chart..

oh wild, the chart is wrong..

I have a iPhone 3GS and audio works fine.. interesting.. i guess I can't trust this link afterall.. back to the drawing board..
