Thread: Alternator eater. Is there some kind of regulator???

This is the 3rd alternator this year. 1 was my fault with a coolant leak, the 2nd just failed. This one, brand new. Under load, voltage dropping to 12v. At night with lights on and stepping on brakes bigtime drop. With A/C on it goes below 12v and barely rises with throttle. All acessories off it goes to 14v and almost hits 15v. What should I check for? My Maxima does not seem to lose any voltage.
