NX1600 Digital Dash cluster
I just acquired a NX1600 Dig Dash from a guy for cheap. He said after the replacement engine was put in the temperature guage on the cluster would peg out to hot but there was nothing wrong with the engine. I am thinking that it is just the temp guage on the engine block itself but I want to check out the cluster anyways. Is there a way to check it out without wiring it into a new harness?

Continuity tester or multimeter. Test the continuity of the proper dash and then match it to the digital

I am sure this man is asking if how to wire a voltage source to check if the whole dash works??? I am asking the same question also???

easiest way would be to use resistors to test. I'm looking for the standard operating resistance for the temp sensor for the dash in another thread. When I find it i'll post it there and here. Just disconnect the sensor, put the resistor of sufficient resistance on the wire, and ground the resistor. See what the dash gauge reads.

If the gauge isn't in the car, power it up properly and do the same procedure with the proper cluster harness wire.

i am afraid i have got a non-working digital dash becouse when i power up the according to the wiring diagrams the power wires while the dash is out of the vehicle i only get a few lights that turn on... I need some guidance how should i go about this???

what turns on? Also, what wires are you supplying power and ground to?

the turn signals are the only two that will illuminate and i dont remember the wire combo in fact i will dig it out and give it another whirl

things like brake, battery, abs, pretty much everything except turn signals and high beams activate when their wire is supplied a ground. Turn and high beams activate with a +12v signal.

Also, seeing as it's digital, you should be supplying +12v to 2 wire colors, YEL and R/B iirc. Ground is B as usual. Your illumination lights will probably have their own circuit entirely, meaning they would have their own +12v and their own ground.

i found a diagram how to wire the dash into a vehicle but the diagram doesn't have any functions of the wires being wired and i checked a FSM and it doesn't really tell me much i do not want to start to putting wires together and destroy the dash if it's not destroyed all ready

Can you link me a diagram? Preferably one with pins and wire codes listed. I normally don't go this far, but I'm willing to walk you through this one.
