You'll get exactly what you want out of this sub. Like I said, nice, tight, punchy bass. Plenty to keep up with 34 watts RMS per channel from my JVC headunit (about double the RMS-wattage of most headunits). The system is louder than I will ever play it.

Younger guys with big-bass dreams and multiple-amp systems can look elsewhere. However, for most normal folks, or enthusiasts that are a bit older, this subwoofer will augment your component speakers perfectly. I absolutely love it, both the sound quality, and SPL's are terrific.

perfect. you have sold me shawn. can you post up were you bought it from?

This was a couple of pages back....

Plus, I forgot that thing was only $129.00.

Absolutely, positively, worth it and a bargain. That tight, punchy, low-end kickdrum would not be there in my (modest) system without the sub.

Sounded great with Kid Rock, also with some House/Trance I was playing, as well as Sharon Jones. Which pretty much covers the musical spectrum.

that's one of the slickest looking headunits i've seen lately, new model perhaps? i'm pretty tired of the glitzy flashly look common among most of them nowadays. great specs/price too, the only thing missing (for me at least) is the inclusion of HD radio or the ability to add it...

Shawn, I was wondering why you decided on the Boss 600 instead of the Boss 1200? Were there fitment issues or did you decide that the 600 was enough? Several years ago I bought a Kenwood powered sub that is small, but not small enough to fit under the seat. I have it in the footwell behind the driver's seat. I really like the look (and reviews) of what you got and am thinking about upgrading. Also, why did you decide on putting it under the pass. seat instead of the driver's seat? Will it compromise foot room for a pass riding in the back seat?

Actually the model is a few years old. Hence, discounted heavily.

For less than $200.00, it offers massive features and includes things like 5v outputs.

I did not know there was a Boss 1200. If I had and it fit under the seat, I would have probably bought it.

The 600 sounds terrific to me. No complaints whatsoever, the performance and price are a raging bargain.

Under the passenger seat for better weight distribution...and no real apparent reason.

Yes it will seriously compromise footroom behind whichever seat it is under. It hides under the seat, you cannot see it from outside the vehicle, but it effectively takes up all the under seat room. If I had thought about it, it would have made more sense with two passengers (and me driving) to have the sub under my seat. Because I am surely not moving my seat too far forward to accomodate knees. With four occupants, the passenger behind the sub better be short with small feet.

In my case, I drive my car by myself 98% of the time. The rest of the time I have wifey in the passenger seat. I cannot remember the last time anybody sat in my backseats, it was well over a decade ago.

I can only imagine the that the next model up would be even better.

Thank you sir.

Someone in this thread, or a PM, recommended it and sent me a review/thread on some "car audio tweaker" forum. Those audiophiles were quite impressed with the price/performance ratio on the unit.

I couldn't be happier with the entire system, and sincerely appreciate everyone's input, tips, advice, and links. In fact, every single component came via recommendation based on this thread.

Looks like some good stuff

I'm an Eclipse nutswinger. Who would have thought a Fujitsu Ten Corp. headunit would sound so good? I have to admit that it's been a GREAT headunit. $250 shipped per headunit, so I bought two just because.

I'm really liking the self powered driver, though. I have been giving serious thought to downgrading the massive driver in the trunk, and having something mounted under the seat. I don't want to give up the amp mounted on the backseat, though, because it was a steal of a deal and is a class D monoblock. Ultra cool temps, and tons of delivery, all for $99 with discounts

I wonder if the 10 or 8 would fit better under a G's seats.

If that 10-inch unit fits, that looks even more serious. The price difference is pretty much negligible.

The price on these subs is stupid-cheap. Someone should buy the 1200 and see how they like it.

However, I'm still 100% pleased with the smaller Bass 600 unit. My audio system is done, and I love it. A veritible price/performance bargain.
