Electric Problem - Possible Grounding Issue
I bought a 1991 SE-R with 127,000 miles on it back in April of 2008. Since then I've gone through 8 or 9 different light bulbs that have blown and my horn fuse has also blown.

The light bulbs that have blown are all over the place:
cabin lamp
left headlight (2 times)
left fog light
far-left rear brake light (2 times)
mid-right rear brake light
trunk lamp
left license plate lamp

so it seems to me now that there is a lot of issues on the left side of the car, but without a wiring diagram I have no idea if there is a ground that they all use.

I have a friend who is a mechanic who told me to check the voltage from the ground of my battery to the top of the battery (yes the plastic part) and sure enough there was 6 volts on the top of the battery. I took off the battery lugs and cleaned the top of the battery ... now there is 0 volts on the battery...

I would imagine if there weren't any grounding issue's the small amount of voltage wouldn't be an issue. I'm sure that 6 volts couldn't put out any significant amperage, but who knows...maybe it could. My electronics troubleshooting experience was on helicopters that were cleaned regularly and the grounding wires were in much better shape...

I have a grounding kit bought in a group buy from the forum, but I still haven't had the time to install it (no garage anymore and my tools are in storage)... Will this do anything? Or do I need to go reground each light assembly?

thanks,
Matt
