Thread: KCE-422i alpine iPod cable?

i have a cde-9881 alpine radio and i just bought a 4g nano 16gb mainly because i want all the cd's out of my car.........is it possible to still control the music via the ipod its self? or does this cable completely cut off the ipod controls so that i have to use the alpine controls instead? any clues?

i am pretty sure you can only use the alpine controls with that cable. that is why i went with the cheap unversal one from best buy because it recharges my ipod and i still use the ipod for control.

I have this cable on my cde-9884. it cuts off all control from the IPOD , and you control it through the headunit itself.

well this wont recharge my ipod because i read online that apple switch from firewire charging to usb charging. so i need to buy a small adapter that will switch back from firewire from the cable to usb for my nano.

and in the past i would listen to a few songs then change the CD...........so far all i do is hit "shuffle" on my ipod and then connect it. last night it went from "pimp juice" to "city on down" .......i freakin love it lol.
