Im just gonna stick with a gt2871R..should be plenty of power, I know Im gonna miss that response of the stock T28 though. But I didn notice that the T28 lost power once you hit 5500rpms seemed to taper off, Im hoping the 2871R .86 will pull all the way to redline.

What boost pressure were you running?

I usually just drive on 10lbs..Every once in a while I bump it up to high boost at 15 but I never drive it over 15. A stock T28 can only handle about 17psi max but its better 2 stay right under that and I don't ever stay in high boost for very long. I know my stock setup can almost outrun my buddys honda with a gt28rs disco potato in it, larger injectors and larger maf, hes only putting down 270whp. I told him to get rid of the pos honda cuz that turbo just on my setup would put me at 300.

Just wondering. My T28 at 11 psi didn't give up really at all from what I could tell. That's with a '94 G20 cam (two generations worse than the original 91-93 SE-R cam) to boot. I'm sure it would be a different story at 15 psi though.

holy crap you seriously ran 303hp on a stock T28, wow im impressed and only 11 psi.. check out this guys dyno

http://www.sr20-forum.com/turbo/439-dyno-sheets-post-them-up-turbo.html

first dyno at the top of the page, he did 325 on a stock T28 at 16 psi.
What setup are you running...what kinda motor, injectors, ecu, maf, anything done to the block?
I can tell you my cars only puttin down 280 on stock GTIR motor at 15psi.. so 303 on that setup at 11psi is freakin amazing don't know how you do it. I gurantee youd get 50 more hp from 11 to 15... Is your T28 a gtir turbo with journal bearing...?

I dont have time to read everything, but you need a simple AWD configured DET or even DE motor. Slap a t28 from the GTIR on it and the GTIR manifold and call it a day. Its the most economical and practical route for longevity and performance.

I guess cams do make a difference but for what you spend on em you could buy a T3 manifold and go with a huge T3 turbo instead of the T28.

Not really. There is a bit more to it than that.
