You have a lowport engine. highport is the one where you can see and change the injectors no problem while low port is the one where its a bitch to change them lol

In the U.S. - highport 1991-1993.5 Sentra SE-R, NX2000, Infiniti G20. Low port all SR20's 1994 and up until the RR (roller rocker SR20's in the B15.

High port is better but now they're much older

Ehhhh I disagree with the "highports are better" but I suppose it CAN be subjective. Here is my objective take on it using information gathered. The highport had a nicer intake manifold design and a slightly better intake cam. Other than those two features, the head design is quite silly and a severely limiting factor. If I were DD'ing an SR20 and I needed a replacement, I would get a JDM Roller Rocker (which is a lowport) and swap out the stock RR intake manifold and place the 95-99 lowport intake manifold on.

Now, am I reading this whole thread correctly and your friend disconnected a part on your car making you think it was out of action???

Yeah I just meant like stock vs stock, a stock highport should dyno higher and take a stock lowport in the 1/4 mile. Of course we have to remember Nissan lowered the fuel cut 400RPM in the lowport B14

So, in the end, your friends played a trick on you?

Noooo no haha. I was mentioning that the video clip I posted sounded exactly like when my friends unplugged my distributor. Car's still not fixed, parts on order, unfortunately locally I'm not able to purchase any of the items I'm looking for Will be a few days until I can get more work done on the car. On another note, I'm pretty sure I can see my water pump leaking very slowly. Coolant lvl. has dropped maybe an inch in the reservoir since the temperatures started to drop here...

IIRC water pump is a bitch because side cover has to come off, if you have the cash I'd take it to a mechanic you trust. Or if you REALLY have the cash, pull that DE out, part it out, and put in a VE. Unless that's your only car.

Any idea on rough costs for a new motor, this VE you're talking about?
