I would use the lithium, it doesn't attract dust like normal grease tends to. It's characteristics are a little different, and that's why OEMs use it. They also use it on door hinges etc. It is a replacement for common "dry" lubricants.
I would NEVER use it on caliper pins though, as I have seen SEVERAL failures and inadequate lubrication on the guide pins when people use it there. I would only recommend a silicon gel lubricant or a high temp moly-based lube good for 500*F.
