Thoughts/Opinions?
I have a 92 SE-R that I've done quite a bit of work to. New engine, ball joints, axles, wheel bearings, ps rack. Runs and drives wonderfully. No leaks, no major noises, factory exhaust, upgraded speakers and CD player. Pretty nice daily, really. Only problem is the tint on the windows is about 18 years old and it's bubbling and peeling and it's very hard to see through it.
So my girlfriend is looking to buy a car because she drives a POS 98 Pontiac Grand Prix and she hates it. She really likes my car because of how quiet it is and how good it is on gas. The other day she offered me $2500 for it. I told her "Get out of here, I'm not selling it". So last night we're driving around and she tells me again she really likes my car and she wants to buy it for $3000. I told her again it's not for sale. Well today it just hit me that $3000 is a lot of money for a 92 Nissan Sentra SE-R, whether it's in good condition or not. And I've been wanting to get a P10 and put a VE in it. I bet I could find a pretty nice P10 shell on these forums or g20.net for less than $1000. A VVL motor is only $900 shipped if you buy from tigerjapanese. That leaves me $1000 to buy calum basic, ball joints, axles, LSD trans, wheel bearings, intake, header, and exhaust. Maybe even some suspension and nice wheels.
I honestly love the car I got, though. I named her "Frosty" cause she'll freeze you out with her A/C and she's white. Obviously I'm pretty attached to this car. I only paid $600 for it and got a JDM DE from Soko for $350. Pretty good deal if you ask me. And should I feel bad for ripping off my girlfriend? I mean I kinda would feel bad but she is getting a really good running car and I'd know how to work on it if for some reason it broke down. So it's not like shes getting screwed. Good car and a free mechanic, ya know? And after all, I'd be getting a VE'd P10 daily driver.
What do you guys think? What would you do?
Edit: Forgot to mention that I'd have to daily drive my turbo car until I got another daily driver put together. 93 octane ain't cheap.
