When he opens the gas tank the pressure and vapors are released(I'm assuming).

It's your vapor canister's control valve. Its probably stuck closed thus the vapors have no where to go but cause the gas nozzle to punch out.

Yah my first thought was that you'd removed the charcoal canister and capped the vapor line that goes back to the fuel tank.

You have to basically replace that valve. Well it at least worked for me.

It's the VALVE ASSY-CONTROL. I would see if you can score one of the forum though.

Actually the FSM should have testing instructions, it's connecting that valve to the battery to see if it opens and closes (you will hear/feel it). If it does nothing you got your problem.

I think it stays closed that's why it causes a gas backup.

hmm im having the same problem. I just pull back a little and slowly push so the gas bearly starts to flow and i slowy just keep adding pressure. Your going to get to a point where it pumps pretty fast. Thats what i do. But i still cant put maximum pressure without tripping the stupid nozzle
