I've removed the oil catchcan after looking in to the tubing that didn't contain oil. I also noticed the scrap Nx2000 I took apart had some oil in the tubing. My engine seems to not use any oil, I maintained it up to spec and then removed the catch can. That hose on the intake rubber, upside down, fits quite nice upside down, replacing the catchcan.

The catchcan is intended to ''catch'' oil from the engine preventing the clogging of the intake... Little oil particles also could travel with the air and make the engine detonate. However, the hose is still dry after 1000+ miles.

p.s. On the pic there is some new regular hose instead of that part of the intake tubing, and it can be done even better but then you will need 2 90 degree bents, and fit it somewhere behind the distributor, which will be tight.

The rubber didn't fit but you are right, I want to fit a ''engine filter'' I don't know how to say in English but hide it somewhere below so the gasses won't mess up the clean look I'm after but I'm still left with another hose I suspect is going to the AICV or somewhere at the intake.

If I know what I can do to that hose, I can get rid of the whole intake rubber and start thinking about piping between MAF and TB for a no nonsense intake and hope for some more power.

Edit: I've got a Green Storm filter and also a hightech :o Cyclone 3 which really works for smoother engine and higher revving but no noticable mpg increase.
