FWD Crankshaft into RWD Block
Hey everyone. I tried searching for a definite yes on this but I couldn't come up with the info I needed on this forum or the original forum. So has anyone used a fwd crankshaft into a rwd block successfully?

Nope, never tried it.

In all honesty, Im assuming that it'd be possible though. I don't know that there's any difference between bottom ends from a FWD to a RWD SR20DET...

Yeah it would be a good source of crankshafts for RWD blocks in this country. Seeing as there are plenty of FWD DE's in the yards. Don't tell the drifters though, lol. Once they find out about something the prices go up or there is less to pick from at the yards.

If you need a FWD crank, I've got one in excellent condition

^^Thanks Tekkie. I have one myself, and access to a local pull apart where sr20's are common. I was just kind of researching RWD blocks as they come up sometimes on Ebay needing rebuilds.

Hell, buy a cheap RWD block needing a rebuild and do the research Just don't make it widely known, otherwise our bottom end parts are going to end up costing more

Yes, a friend of mine put a SR16 crank in a RWD block recently. This was done to comply with the displacement rules for the class he races in.

^^COol. How long has it been running since the install? Oh and from now on FWD cranks don't work in RWD blocks. Actually fwd motors and rwd motors are totally incompatible
