Thread: found this unplugged.. what is it??

was tinkering with the car today and found a wire hangin down by the pass side axle well as i was lookin up through the engine back form under the car my friend finds the the part where it plugs in which is on is on the same harness as the injectors.. now i dont ever remember plugging this in but i havent really had any problems either.. we plugged it in tho heres a pic.. i'd just like to know what its for..

just searched through my swap pics and ya.. looks like i have been runnin with this thing unplugged for quite some time now..

I'm pretty sure that's your knock sensor. Have you had a CEL?

nope not even with the stock de ecu

hmm, strange. I guess I'm not sure if the knock will throw a code if unplugged, it might just stay quiet if it's unplugged. Is that the one that connects into the fuel injector wiring section of the harness? If so, that's the knock.

yep comes out the end of the injector harness on pass side.. thats kinda goofy that the wires are split into 2 sections, no real point that i can see other then maybe diagnostics or something lol.. well thanks
