painted my wheels.
got a set of wheels for my mazda3 a few weeks ago and first i was going to play it safe like normal and paint them satin black.......decided i didnt want another set of black wheels (every wheel i have ever had has been black) then wanted to paint them army green........figured that may look alittle doofy on a silver hatch lol. i finally decided on duplicolor gun metal wheel paint.

this is how they looked when i got them. bling nasty black with metal flake, notice the clear is flaking off. oh did i mention i also got 4 BFG KDW's with the wheels? nearly brand new too!

after sand blasting i cleaned them up with some prep spray and did some extra sanding on the lip to make sure the paint would stick really well there (i dont want chipping when i put the tires on.

primerd with etching primer it also just so happens to be close to the color i was going to paint them lol.

gun metal with plenty of clear.........next week i will wet sand the front and toss another coat of clear on.

well seeing as how this was the first time i have EVER used clear coat and actually cared about it looking good i spent quite a bit of time and care with this first one feeling the whole process out unlike flat paint that you can simply unload a can and hope for the best

yea i only painted that one wheel however i did get another one blasted and primerd. i didnt completely blast all the paint off because the base black is pretty sturdy however the remaining clear coat blasted off easier than the left over sticky crap from the wheel weights! hey if you want ill give you my other 2 wheels and you can dick around with them. but i am working friday hell i may even need to work new years day! if so im going in still drunk see what kind of interesting **** happens when i need to test drive a car
