This what all the mechanics are saying but none of them can pin point it.

When you say tie rods have been replaced, does that mean both inner and outer, or just outer?
With the front wheels jacked up and the steering wheel locked can you grab the sides of the tire and feel any play in the suspension or steering at all? Can you feel any when grabbing the top and bottom of the tire and shaking?

What condition are the lower ball joints in (assuming you have them)? How about the rest of the suspension joints?

I will double check this when I get home.

I have a 99 altima with the same problem. I just replaced an axle and a wheel bearing on the driver side. Eventually I'll get around to rotating the tires and see if it changes. I had a stuck slider pin in my driver's side caliper for a while too, idk if that being stuck for as long as it has made the rotor wear unevenly to the point that the car would shake at highway speed.

Also, when you changed your axles, did the driver's side give you a really hard time going in to the trans when installing the new one? I had to beat the daylights out of mine to the extent that the axle nut mushroomed and I had to use the old one and cut the end of the shaft off to get to non-messed up threads. Advance auto axles ftl altho i've had great success with the autozone one on my se-r

The drivers side axle on mine went in pretty smoothly. I think it was just a tad bit harder to put on. I'm noticing now that my rotors are getting a little warped now. I can feel a slight increase in vibration when braking.

Are you on steelies or alloy wheels?

I still gotta do bens test when I get a chace

mine are alloys but one of them has a case of curb rash that I would classify as herpes

It sounds to me like it has to be the axles. It wouldn't be anything with your motor or tranny cuz it would only do it at certain rpms. Which for what ur saying is that it's only at highway speeds. So that cancels out the motor and tranny. There's 2 easy reasons for it to do that and 1) balance your wheels (but it seems like u already had that checked out so not that) and 2) the axles. I bought mines from kragen and they came with weights for like 15 each with a core.

Ok, I jacked the car up. The wheels are firm when trying to rock them up or down and left or right. However, when I manually push the wheels to full lock it clanks and makes this knocking rattling sound. It does not do this when turning the steering full lock left or right. In the last two weeks I have noticed a slight vibration during acceleration also. With my foot on the brakes and trying to accelerate the car in gear, I think the motor moves a little to much. I think I need to replace the front and rear motor mounts also.
