Maf location
So I’ve searched what I can without going through every page of posts on here with no luck. I’m wondering what the difference is as far as where you guys put your maf sensor? Between filter and turbo, or intercooler and TB? What are the benefits/downfalls. I’ve got 10:1 UK spec sr, t25, 370 injectors, z32 maf (currently between IC and TB), innovate wideband, running 6 psi stock spring. Thoughts? Also if anyone has a base tune file for this setup that would be awesome. I’m running stock ECU with safc 2 at the moment, with a Calum RT sitting on the shelf waiting to go in. But it’s tuned to a n/a motor. I’m new to tuning, so if anyone knows someone that is a good tuner near Lexington KY let me know. Thanks!

IMO the benefits of draw-through are so much so that I would never even consider blow-through.
The main reasons to run the MAF between the air filter and the turbo compressor inlet are:
1) Your PCV re-circ won't foul up the MAF.
2) You don't have to try to seal the MAF against boost.

Everything else is about equal between the two setups.
But I'm not in the trenches. I'm a MAP+IAT guy. I could be wrong...

I’ve heard that before, but was wondering if it was true. My biggest question that I forgot to mention is whether the air flow would be accurately measured putting the maf before the turbo? I would think it would be more accurate on the boost side but I’m relatively new to boosting. Thanks for the input!!

Most OEMs do the MAF before the turbo for the reasons I've described. If it weren't as accurate, they'd compensate somehow I'd think. But the reality of it is that the accuracy is theoretically the same on either side. A MAF measures the mass of air flow, regardless or pressure or temperature. I could get into how they work if you'd like (just let me know), but suffice it to say that the accuracy is the same on either side (provided you keep the MAF element clean).

Mine is currently setup as blow thru, and no problems that i know of yet. I’ve just seen a lot of draw thru setups in pictures lately and was curious. I’m going to switch to draw thru just to see if it helps my a/f readings steady out a bit. Thanks for the help!

A benefit of blow-through is if you pop intercooler pipes, you won't be stuck on the side of the road.
