Yes, keeping the sleeves at an 86mm bore. Ill be using the oem vet headgasket. Simple, easy, effective.

Are you at all worried about the 6 speed trans handling the power?

Personally, I am skeptical that it will handle what you plan on throwing at the 2nd and 3rd gear stacks, but I wish nothing but the best for you. Granted the only other car on this forum putting down the power that you're planning is the Mazworx gti-r to my knowledge, so I guess at least on the dash there is no basis for comparison. There may be some spec's laying down real power with that transmission, but I don't give a crap enough about that engine to research that myself.

Regardless, I hope you do work and everything comes together just like you want it to. This is one of my favorite builds and inspiration to build a monster in the future.

No, im not really worried about it. If a stock GTIR trans can handle 800awhp for at least 9-10 hits im not worried. Physical size of the 6 speed stacks trump the gtir trans gears along with the size of the input and mainshaft to reduce flex, the case of the 6 speed is way beefier than the gtir trans as well.

No there are no spec V's putting down this kind of power. The most ive seen from a spec is in the 500's on a sleeved and fully built motor. Those motors are just not very rev happy and when you put a large turbo like that on you need revs, displacement will only take you soo far.

But they take 500's all day long, ive yet to see anyone break a 6 speed trans. Like ive said before these are the same gearstacks that come in the Evo 9 MR's. They dont usually start breaking teeth on 3rd and 4th until about 550awhp or so and you have to think thats in a 3000+ lb car. I have a backup if I do make too much for the gears to handle and thats John Shephards 3-5 billet gear set which makes the already larger stock gears look weak. So far they have held up in their 800+awhp drag evo and in a 550+awhp road race car. So no doubts. Havent seen anyone crack a case on one of these yet either.

Im probably gonna order a set of his gears to have just in case if something happens to the trans on the dyno or after at the track. That way ill still have time to tear it down, put the new gears in and not have to worry about it.

Some more pics of the monster, on this turbo it definitely looks like the turbine housing is more compact as far as the distance from the t4 flange to the top of the turbine housing compared to my t67 h.o. My t67 had a long runner basicly leading into the turbine wheel where this one while much much wider seems like it has a shorter distance from the flange to the wheel. Which should help clear everything nicely and wont have to move the flange on the manifold down much. Cant wait to test fit it and get it on.

















You can see what I mean in this picture of the T67 how tall the housing is from the flange to the top.

In that picture it looks like your t3 flange is hitting your runner already. So lowering it doesnt seem like a good option considering your collector is already so short, and the t4 flange prob. won't fit where the t3 flange is because of the runner. So fitting that thing looks like a big pita.

Picture is deceiving, its not hitting the runner, it is slightly sitting over the edge of the runner though. I can drop it down about 2 1/2" and it will clear on the under side of the runner and what ill do is angle the cut sloping down towards the front so it moves the turbine outlet away from the runner as well. Ive got it planned out. If it doesnt fit ill be buying another manifold. No other way around it but im pretty sure I can make it fit. I wont know until I actually get to test fit it.
