Yeah seeing 125 dollar clamp sets fail too isnt too pleasing either. haha.

I like the Vibrant clamps but with the clamp and flanges together they are still upwards of 125 bucks or so. Wiggins clamps are nice as well but again also in the 125 dollar range. No thanks. lol. Ill keep with the two v-bands and two couplers. If the couplers or t-bolts fail. Then I have a reason justified to spend some big money on nicer couplings. But until then they will have to disprove themselves for me to spend that much on clamps.

I already have the 3" piping so again both intercooler connections will be opened up and have the v-band flanges welded on in place of those long 2.5" connections. 2.5 to 3" coupler from the turbo and then a 3.5" to 3" 45 deg coupler from the throttle body to the piping.

Pretty simple, cost effective and should look sick as hell.

Correct. Unless the engine is solid mounted to the car it is going to move around in the bay. Quality silcone couplers have to be used in some places to allow for movement. Not only would the V-bands leak but the solid connection will cause stresses in other locations, like the manifold and the intercooler end tanks.

Same reason people don't put flex pipes in the exhaust system and then wonder why the manifold cracks or an exhaust leak develops at the downpipe to turbo connection.

You don't have to use silicone couplers. That's what wiggins clamps are for.

Thats what Exospeed is for. Hopefully they come through. If not, at the very least its getting a sunny 4 fog but without the fogs, lol. Its not looking good though as we havent heard anything from them in months. They roughly have about 4 1/2 months left to get it done before I make a decision to just get a sunny bumper.

With my new intercooler setup I can mount it closer to the lower radiator support and wont have the piping going around to clear so a sunny bumper should fit pretty well without much cutting.
