Its easy to swap a low mile one in. Look carefully at it while you take it out and even take a pic or two. See what's going on in there.

Whats the 24k mile one look like?

I've also read people griping about what type of grease they used and how much when talking about this noise (if its like my noise).

My bet is still that one of the clips slipped or popped entirely off the tob.

I have had it off and on for quite a while with a few different clutch and throwout bearings. I just turn the stereo up a bit and pretend the sound isnt there. LOL

In my experiences it hasnt affected driveability.

I think it's because the TOB arm doesn't return all the way. Or it chatters against the PP.
Mine does the same thing, I'm thinking about adding a spring in the rad's direction to it to keep it away from the PP.

Also, the TOB is bad if it makes noise with the clutch pedal pushed in. Otherwise it's (supposedly) not spinning (at least in our case).

Well I found out what it was ....it went awayt and came back a few times ....but when I was putting the twin disc and flywheel in , I noticed the pins that hold the clutch arm together had worked there way out and contacted the PP.....never saw that before

yeah thats a weird one alright. Those pins are usually a pain to punch out and take some effort. Thats a new one for sure.
