Has anyone tried mixing and matching csk's and agx's?
Looking at options for the Hyperco's coming sometime soon.

My first choice would be CSK's all around. The B15 Spec V yellow inserts are still readily available for the front. The issue becomes what to do with the rear as the B13 reds are no longer available. Matt says, and I find it easy to believe, that the yellows on the rear of a B13 are too stiff even on full soft for the Hyperco's.

As I understand it, you do not necessarily shorten the rears, or at least not very much. How about using the KYB AGX's for the rear and using the CSK yellow B15's in the front?

Is there a good reason as to why this is a bad idea?

Not a bad idea ,Joe.It seems pretty common actually. The rear doesnt need the added travel of the fronts do.It also lets you adjust them easier than the reds, too.

Finding a good setting on the agxs to match your front will be key.

I was considering doing this myself with stock suspension. Shouldn't be too hard to pick a setting that works well.

Speaking of mixing suspension parts, what about using Hyperco's in the front and RM's in the rear? I know one is progressive and one is linear, but I've been wondering for a while if that combo would give you a little more forgiving ride than RM all the way around, while possibly offering a more precise feel in turns than Hypercos all around. I've had RM's on an NX and I'm just going off what I had read about Hypercos. I was thinking this would maybe be a good DD/autox setup. Maybe Hyperco/shortened Koni up front and RM/AGX in the rear.

As we discussed Joe, I agree with McCarp and Eggman.

I *think* the only difference would be in the damping characteristics difference between a Koni and a AGX. And would we (collectively or individually) be sharp enough as drivers to even notice that rebound/damping curve (feel) difference?

And...Burto, I don't see why that would not work. The RM's and Hypercos are very, very close in every other respect (drop and stiffness) except for the linear/progressive difference. It certainly would not hurt anything (I can think of) to give it a shot and see how it feels on the road. I *think* it would increase the overall rear stiffness and induce more oversteer, making the back end swing around easier. That is my best theoretical *guess*.

And that right there is what I'd be concerned about. Konis typically are more aggressive on rebound adjustment ( which is why they work so well), the AGX valving is much more aggressive on compression than rebound. I'm not sure how that combo would work together.
