Issues bleeding wilwood calipers
Okay here is the deal. I am trying to button up my car and I went to bleed the brake system since it got a full upgrade. I am running a u13 master cylinder with a wilwood 11" kit up front and maxima's in the rear. I tried using a vacuum pump until it broke and then bought a one man bleeder kit. I am able to get the rear brakes to bleed just fine but cannot get anything to come out of the front calipers. I am wondering what I am missing. I even removed the calipers from the car to verify the lines had fluid and the calipers had fluid. both had fluid but I am unable to get anything to come out with the bleeder valves open. with the car off it takes 1 and 1/2 strokes till the pedal is hard.

finally got fluid to come out of the wilwood brakes. Now the pedal only travels 4" with the car off. Can't start the car to check the brake booster so I guess I will have to wait and see if its right.

hmm. i pretty much have the same setup as yours. you "may" have air in your system. sometimes it helps to lightly tap the caliper with a rubber mallet so it may free some air bubbles. When i bleed my brakes, i "gravity" drain them, which means i connect the tube to the bleeder valve, open it up, and let gravity do the work. i dont pump my brakes or use a one man bleeder kit. just my 0.02. Theres also some good info here: http://www.se-r.net/brakes/bleeding_brakes.html

I think I will invest in a motive pressure bleeder. No way to mess it up and it only takes one person. I made progress with what I had so now I need to finish up the rest of the car so I can start it. Then hopefully be able to drive it depending how the first start goes with a new motor and aem ems.

I would go with a pressure bleeder. I have had similar issues in the past and ended up just buying one.... makes a world of difference
