Need wheel spacer help
I have a set of beautiful 949 Racing gen 1 6UL's in Nickle that I want to run on my P10. Mine are offset +40 and they are 4x100 so they don't bolt up directly. I found a company that make spacer/adapters which would solve both the offset and bolt pattern issue. They will make the spacer in any thickness from 19mm - 30 mm, and will make it both hub centric to the P10 (66.1) and the wheels (59.1) I already have a new set of Falken 912's 225/50-15 tires that have the same diameter as the stock P10 tires to eliminate any speedo error mounted on the 6UL's:


I'm looking for suggestions as to the correct thickness to order, as all I would be doing right now is guessing.

Remember, the closer you go to a 0 offset the closer to a flush fitment you will have on

the wheel. With that, then you have your choice of tire width that will come into play

with how much spacer you will need/want. I have the 15x8 +38 offset 6UL wheels that

are going on my pulsar, and I will be running at least a 10mm spacer in the rear & a 8-10

mm spacer up from on a set of 225/50 Toyo R888 tires. That setup will run about flush on

it. I know you were talking about a P10 but those spacer measurments will be close to the

same if you run the same size tire. Also keep in mind that if you don't have coilover

suspension on the P10 then you will run into the problem of the wider tire hitting the

spring perch. With the coilvers you alleviate that problem. Hope this helps.

Happy, use this offset calculator to help you. I tried doing a quick search and could not come up with stock offsets for the P10.

Take the stock offset and width, write down the inner clearance and outer position. Now put in the new wheels offset and record those numbers. Obviously since the new wheel is wider and a different offset, you will have to adjust the spacer to get the wheel where
you want it.

Hope this helps, if i have time later i can run some numbers.

The stock wheel on a P10 is 14x6 with an offset of +45. Using the calculator, without any spacer my 6UL's would be 20mm closer to the strut and 30 mm further out towards the fender. This leads me to believe that using the smallest 19 mm spacer would leave me where I want to be in terms of strut clearance (only 1 mm closer), and leave me 49 mm (almost 2 inches) further out towards the fender. Kimme shot some pics for me this morning.

The tire on the 6UL is 8 mm beyond the edge of the wheel:


There appears to be plenty of space to clear fenders in terms of height:


And in terms of width, it should be close to flush:


Or is there a fault in my thought process somewhere?

Hey Joe your analysis of the 19mm spacer is correct. It will bring you 1mm closer on the inside and poke you out 49mm. That is by far your best bet for the spacer. It might be too thick though. That would be my only worry. A 15mm spacer is probably ideal. (Unless the P10 rear is significantly different from the B13 rear. I am much more experienced with the B13 than the P10.)

Do deal with the extra poke you'll want to roll the rear fenders. What springs/struts is the P10 running in the rear? (The front is almost never an issue.)

With the stock springs you might not have to roll the rear fenders. Things are going to be close though in the rear. You might even get a little tire poking out up front and in back. Shouldn't cause a problem with interference, but just realize it might look a little weird and throw all sorts of road debris and mud onto the bodywork.
(I have tire poke in the front of the B13 and I could care less.)

19mm at the most I figure for those spacers.

If you have 49mm to spare between your current tires and the rear bodywork then you're doing real well. (That doesn't completely account for the tires though.)
That's the best measurement to get IMO if you feel like sharing that with us.
